Obituary

Beverly K. Kempfer, Age 70, Resident of Wild Rose, WI breathed her last earthly breath and her spirit entered heaven on Christmas Eve morning, 2021. Bev was born on June 29, 1951 to Red and Alice Ehlenfeldt and raised in Beaver Dam, WI. She married the love of her life, Robert J. Kempfer and, in their more than 50 years together, they were blessed with two beautiful children: Jeremy Kempfer, Wild Rose and Shiloh (Chris) Ort, Black Creek; two grandsons: Taylor and Jaylen Kempfer and four granddaughters: Lauren and Hayleigh Ort and Savannah and Sarah Kate Kempfer. Family was everything to Bev. She came from a large family and maintained deep connections with her brothers and sisters and their own families all of her life. When she married Bob she became a beloved daughter and sister-in-law and aunt to the John and Lola Kempfer family. She cherished her extended family, each and every one and there were so very many memories made and special times shared with Bev-camping, birthday parties, holidays, any and every reason to be together, Bev made it memorable and meaningful. But, 110 % of Bev’s heart and soul were dedicated unwaveringly to her husband and her own family with Bob. Bob and Bev were a strong, solid example of true love and unending support to each other. All who knew them saw in them an equal partnership and undying commitment to each other that dreams are made of and we all strive to achieve in our own lives with those we love.

Bev’s beloved son Jeremy, with his late wife Summer; and Bev’s beautiful daughter Shiloh with her husband Chris gave their mom the greatest gift of her lifetime-her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the pride and joy of Bev’s life and are Bev’s beautiful legacy. Bev did not believe in being a “long distance” grandma, even when miles separated her from the kids. She was active and present in all of their lives every day of her life whether in person or in spirit. There was not a moment when Bev did not answer the call when needed to help out or when invited to attend a special event for her grandkids-her being and her presence was her gift to each one.

Her family gave her so many wonderful moments and wonderful memories, for sure. But, her family received the greatest gift of all and that was Bev’s strength and her involvement and unconditional love each and every day.

As Bev fought so valiantly in her battle with cancer, she pushed through the bad days with a fierce determination to spend as much time with her family as she possibly could and to make every day matter.

While her family is incredibly grateful that Bev has moved beyond the tribulations of her last few months on earth, they celebrate the knowledge that she has won eternal peace and comfortable rest with her God in Heaven. Bev was loved beyond words and will be missed by her family and friends.

If you knew her, though, you would know she would not want to be the reason we cried and would not want us to focus on being so very sad. She would want for us to remember her sharp mind, clever wit and big heart and she would ask us to: “Remember me in your heart: your thoughts and your memories, of the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed. For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.” And she would insist that: “You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she would want: Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.”

Bev’s family would like to invite you to share in a celebration of her life on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma from 10AM to 12PM (NOON).
