William Rutter

William (Bill) Alfred Rutter of Hancock, WI passed away unexpectedly on January 24th, 2016. Bill was born November 7, 1952 in Clare, Michigan and grew up with his parents William and Deloris.

He and his wife Mary Lou, married for 42 years, together lovingly raised four children, whom he loved dearly and was very proud.

Bill spent his entire professional career as an architect, and proudly owned his own firm in Wautoma for the last ten years. His passions included hunting, fishing and annual trips to Canada, history, and, most of all, flying. He built his own plane and successfully flew with several of his close friends over the years.

His sense of humor ensured that you always felt welcome when he was with you. If you were fortunate enough to be his friend, you were one for life.

William is preceded in death by his parents William and Deloris, his parents in-law Roland and Ida Gerdes, and his sister in-law. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Lou, and his four children: Sarah, Carrie, Emily (Lewis Horn) and Zebulun (Holly). He's also survived by his brother-in-law, many family members and friends, and many grand-dogs.

His family would like to thank all of our friends and family for their love and support through this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of services at 11AM. Burial will take place at Cherry Grove Cemetery, Clare MI.
