Wallace Rohr

Wallace J. "Wally" Rohr, age 93, of Wautoma, died peacefully Saturday morning, November 21, 2015 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI.

He was born January 22, 1922 in Chicago, IL the son of Adolph and Della (O'Brien) Rohr. He married Josephine T. "Jodie" Drane on June 24, 1944.

Wally served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946. He was employed at Teletype Corp. of Skokie, IL for over 30 years. Later, he and his wife moved to Cable, WI where they operated the Otter Bay Resort for 10 years. They moved to Wautoma in 1996. An avid outdoorsman, Wally loved hunting, fishing, trapping and golfing.

He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Cable where he was active in the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club and American Legion. Wally belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma and was a member of Sacred Heart Council Knights of Columbus and Wautoma Lions Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Josephine "Jodie" Rohr, Wautoma; five children, Wally (Susan) Rohr, Tucson, AZ, Pat Riek, Bellingham, WA, Peggy (Dr. Jose) Duran, Corpus, Christie, TX, Dan (Carol) Rohr, Palm Coast, FL, and Jim (Lisa) Rohr, Randolph; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his step brother, Joey Lynch, Wautoma. He is further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma with Rev. David Greskowiak officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wautoma.

Visitation will be held on Monday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
