Vernet W Reetz

Vernet William Reetz, age 95 of Neshkoro died on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Heartland House Wautoma. He was born on December 29, 1927 in Neshkoro to Otto and Ella (Nickolie) Reetz. Vernet married Geraldine Floeter in Neshkoro. Geraldine died on April 26, 1993. When Vernet was 21 he bought the now Reetz Meats & Grocery from his boss and operated the store for 30+ years until selling the store and retiring. In 2000 he asked lifelong friend, Mary Jean Nielsen to dinner and they have been together ever since. Vernet enjoyed fishing, watching the Green Bay Packers and was a life member of Zion Lutheran Church, Neshkoro.

Vernet is survived by his daughter: Leanne Atkin; special friend: Mary Jean Nielsen; the Nielsen family; sister: Doris Marshall; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Geraldine Reetz; brother: Gilbert Reetz; sisters: Gertrude Wegenke, Leona Gatz, Bernadyne Gatz and Elaine Krause.
