Shirley Miller

Shirley A. Miller, age  80, of Hancock, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019. She was born Jan 24, 1939 in Centerville, IA the daughter of Paul and Beryle (Hinote) Hackathorn. She married Wayne (Skip) A. Miller on August 20, 1955 at Geneva, IL. She and her husband moved to rural Hancock in 1975 when he retired from the US Air Force. She worked at the former Kountry Kourt Restaurant in Wautoma for a number of years. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting, and making special baked treats and fudge for her family. She loved to go on long drives to visit friends & family across the country and to also enjoy the sights. Her and “Skip” loved to go places with the children on family excursions during their time/travels with the military. Shirley cherished going out weekly for dinner with family and running into friends in town.

She is survived by her three children: Roxanne Allen, Adams, Steven Miller, Hancock, and Ross (Donna) Miller, VA; three grandchildren: Michelle (Stuart) Hoge, Jessica Miller, and Sheri Miller; three great grandchildren: Mason, Scarlett, and Vivian Hoge; one brother Don (Betty) Hackathorn, MS; two sister-in -laws: Pat (Al) Antoni, IL; Connie Miller, MO; one Aunt Patricia Wenzel, IL. She also is survived by many cousins, loving nieces and nephews. Shirley will leave behind many very dear friends around the world as she was loved by all who met and knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and by one brother-in-law, Jerry Miller.

Funeral services will be held on 21 Mar at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma with Rev. Blaine O. Niskanen officiating. Burial will be in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, at King. Visitation will be held on 20 Mar from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home and on 21 Mar from 10 am until the time of services.
