Shirley Jane Floeter, age 84, of Neshkoro, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, March 7, 2020.
She was born October 19, 1935 in the Town of Crystal Lake (Budsin), Marquette County the daughter of Walter E. and Martha E. (Meyer) Teske. She married Donald James Floeter on August 27, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church in Neshkoro. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1988.
Shirley attended school in Neshkoro and was a graduate of Westfield High School. During her school years she worked at the former Breity’s Store in Neshkoro. Shirley began working as a secretary for the Westfield School District. She worked her way up the ladder to school district secretary, district bookkeeper and finally administrative secretary for the district. All of this done over a 37 ½ year career until she retired in January of 1992.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Neshkoro and belonged to the Altar Guild. She also served as secretary for the former AAL Chapter at Zion Lutheran. Shirley served as clerk/treasurer for the Neshkoro Village Board. She was a member of the Westfield School Board, Marquette County Board of Supervisors and the Town of Crystal Lake Board. She belonged to the Neshkoro Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two children, Sandra Vaughan (special friend, Ed Tanner Jr.), Neshkoro, Jimmy (Kim) Floeter, Neshkoro; three sisters-in-law, Deborah Teske, Neshkoro, Marian Floeter, Westfield, Jeanette Becker, Berlin; grandchildren, Shauna (Matthew) Escoto, Green Bay, Shane Vaughan, Chicago, IL, Zachary (Brittany) Floeter, Wisconsin Dells, Bradley Floeter, Neshkoro; great grandchildren, Jayceen and Amina Escoto, Rowan, Cash and Tripp Floeter. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her only brother Marlin Teske, and by other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 12 noon at Zion Lutheran Church in Neshkoro with Rev. John C. Bumgardner officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma and on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. leiknessfuneralhome.com
