Ronald Verburgt

Ronald J. Verburgt, age 67, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Jan. 4, 1950 in Berlin, the son of John and Ruth (Grevenow) Verburgt. He married Peggy L. Schnetzer on July 10, 1971 in Waukau.

Ron served as  a Combat Medic in the United States  Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a bricklayer for over 40 years and was a proud member of Local 9 Masons Union. Ron loved riding his Harley motorcycle and spending time with his family at their property on Lake Alpine.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Peggy Verburgt, Wautoma; his children, Michelle Lemke (Dan), Germania and Wautoma, Heather Stratton (Matt), Union Grove, Shannon Verburgt, Oshkosh, Eric Fisher, Oshkosh; his mother, Ruth Verburgt, Omro; 12 grandchildren, Dayna, Kaylee and Eryn Lemke, Jade, Keon, Mia, Rayne Verburgt, Rylie and Ryder Stratton, Samantha, B.J. and Coleton Fisher; one brother, Jim Verburgt (Carol), Omro; two sisters, Dianne Litton (Kevin), Omro, Patti Rothenbach (Ron), Omro. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his father, John “Jack” Verburgt.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma. Burial with full military honors will be at Richford Cemetery, Township of Richford.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
