Roland Ode

Roland William Ode, age 92 of Wautoma, formerly of Milwaukee, died at his home on Sunday, May 29, 2016. He was born in Walworth County on January 23, 1924 to Walter and Helen (Bettinger) Ode. While in high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served with the 641st Engineer Company for 19 months as a carpenter. Roland was honorably discharged in January of 1946. He then went to work as a commercial carpenter and retired from R.J. Lederer Company. He married Jane Anne Faulkner on March 26, 1955 in Rockford. After retiring the couple moved to John's Lake in 1997. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed nature, fishing and most hunting. Roland was an eclectic collector, excellent woodworker and proud member of Happy Joes Toy Making Club and was a Boy Scout Troop 151 Leader for many years. Roland graciously sacrificed his time to help others. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Roland is survived by his children: Daniel (Kathy) Ode, Susan Munoz, Roland "Chip" (Christine) Ode; grandchildren: Melissa (Mike) Gettys, Naomi Steusser, D.J. Ode, Johnathon (Anastasia) Munoz, Steven Ode; great grandchildren: Rapheal and Georgina Clare; sister: Ellen Luhm; great buddy: Garland Peterson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Jane Ode; brother: Walter Ode and sister: Gladys Kreel.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma. Officiating at the service will Pastor Barb Girod with Military Honors to follow at the funeral home. The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30AM until services at 11AM.
