In retirement Bob volunteered thousands of hours over a fifteen year period at Zablocki Veteran's Hospital in West Allis.
Throughout his life Bob spent summers at the family cottage on Big Hills Lake near Wild Rose. After retirement he and his wife traveled to New Braunfels, Texas each winter where they enjoyed the company of many friends. They bought a home in Wautoma in 1996 where Bob lived for thirteen years before moving to Rosemore Retirement Village in Wild Rose in November of 2009.
Golf, gardening and playing bridge were his favorite activities. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He spent many happy hours with family and friends on the golf course of the Waushara Country Club.
