Bob Burmeister age 80 of Oshkosh, formerly of Wautoma passed away on Friday, on March 6, 2026 surrounded by his wife, family and friends. He was born on March 15, 1945 in Wild Rose to Emil and Erma (Pilger) Burmeister.
Bob joined the United States Marine Corp on the buddy system with his lifelong friend Larry Lipke in Jan 1963. He served proud and bravely as a COMBAT veteran in the Vietnam War. After getting out of the Marine Corp, he remained in Southern California and became a very successful businessman. His companies were AccuFab Steel Co, B&W Wheel Co and The Wheel Doctor in Fontana CA. There was nothing he couldn’t build! He met the love of his life and they married in Dec 2004, in Fontana CA. The couple then moved to Wautoma in 2020 when he retired. If you knew Bob, you know his wife was his everything. They did everything together. He enjoyed every day, specifically he loved 4wd drive trips, humor, boats, camping, traveling, drinks with friends, shopping, cars, trucks and his Country. He was very much a patriot.
Bob is survived by his best friend, soul mate and wife: Tiffany; daughters: Robin and Michelle; his 4-legged kids; grandchildren; mother and father in law; sister in law; brother; sisters; many nieces and nephews and very special friends (you know who you are) near and far. He is preceded in death by his “sweet” brothers: Emil, Billy B Burmeister; his mother and father and his “old bat” grandma in law: Angie.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Wautoma World War II Memorial Building on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 11AM to 5PM with Military Honors at 12PM (NOON).
