Richard Froehlich

January 22, 1927 — August 27, 2010

Richard G. "Dick" Froehlich, age 83, of Almond, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at his daughter's home in Friendship. He was born January 22, 1927 in Juneau County, the son of Gustav and and Caroline (Lange) Froehlich. He was married to Ivadelle Beggs from October 13, 1945 until her death on July 23, 1984. They were blessed with four children. Dick remarried on May 11, 1985 to Jean Czajkowski Mehne. They enjoyed many happy years together until her death on April 10, 2003. Survivors include his sons, Terry (Linda) Froehlich, Princeton, Russell (Nancy) Froehlich, Russellville, AR., Bill (Bernadette) Froehlich, New London; his daughter, Dianna Helmrick, Friendship; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson. He is further survived by other relatives and many friends. Dick was a veteran, and had worked in agriculture all his life. He was a coon hunter, fisherman, turkey hunter, snowmobile class instructor, woodworker, beekeeper, and gardener. He enjoyed sharing his garden harvest and teaching others about bees and beekeeping. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield with the Rev. David Leistra officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be given to Hospice Touch, c/o Tomah Memorial Hospital, Tomah, Wisconsin.
