Raymond G. Hackbart

Raymond G. Hackbart, age 88, of Coloma, passed away Tuesday morning, April 29, 2025 at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Appleton.

He was born January 8, 1937 in Waukesha, the son of Elmer and Bernice (Hanke) Hackbart. He married LuAnn S. Wright on April 30, 1960 in Iola. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2018.

Ray was a 1955 graduate of Westfield High School where he was a 3 sport athlete. He served his country in the United States Army from 1956 until being honorably discharged in 1958. He worked at Coloma Meats and later became Parts Manager at the former Coloma Motors for many years. Ray worked at Brakebush Brothers in Westfield until his retirement.

He enjoyed playing softball and bowling in his early years. He liked coin collecting and visits to the casino. Ray was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers and NASCAR. He loved attending sporting events for his children and later for his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Raymond is survived by three children, Michael Hackbart, Coloma, James (Tammy) Hackbart, Coloma, Rodney (Lisa) Hackbart, Arkdale; seven grandchildren: Ryan (Danielle) Hackbart, Jolene Wyman, JaeJae (Jessica) Baier, Hunter Hackbart, Shianne (Pedro) Franco, Jessica Bonds, Ky Hackbart (Emily Nett); seven great grandchildren: Caden, Finn, Gunnar, Avery, Kennedi, Jax and Maddie; one sister, Carole (Denver) Wright, Iola; two sisters-in-law, Judy Hackbart, Ripon and Suzanne Olkowski, Waupaca; one brother-in-law, Gary (Mary) Wright, Long Prairie, MN. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joyce (Richard) Morrell; two brothers: Elroy (Colleen) Hackbart and Richard Hackbart; two brothers-in law, Randy Wright and Alan Olkowski.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma. The Rev. Blaine O. Niskanen will officiate and military honors will be performed at the church following the service.
