Ramona J. Feustel 97, passed away at Wild Rose Hospital Aug. 13, 2026 from a stroke, with her daughters by her side. Mona was born in Waupaca, WI on July 8, 1929 to parents Earl and Leona (Buelow) Brinkmann. She grew up in Waupaca and Weyauwega and attended grade school in both places and Waupaca High School. She lived for one year in Chandler, AZ when she was 12.
In 1947 she married Phil Nelson and together they had 6 children, Vicki, Sandy, Christi, Tom, Ted and Terri Jo. They divorced and she later married Dan Feustel. She retired from McGregor Sand Knit in Berlin, WI and had various jobs throughout her life. After she retired, she volunteered her time to drive the elderly to medical appointments until she was elderly! She decided to quit doing that because almost all of the people she chauffeured to appointments were younger than her!
Our mom was a very kind and quiet person. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting and had won a few grand champions at the county fair for the beautiful bedspreads and tablecloths she made. She was always down to play cribbage or board games with whoever wanted to play. She was also an avid reader of mysteries and read until the day of her stroke. She was addicted to the crossword puzzles in the daily paper and we think she had withdrawals when she quit the Oshkosh Northwestern years ago! Her mind was still sharp and she continued to live on her own.
She is survived by her four daughters, Vicki (Russ) McClelland, Sandy (Dick) Sage, both of Wautoma, WI, Christi (Stan)Little, Grand Marsh, WI and Terri Jo Nelson, Poy Sippi, WI. Grandkids, Traci, Troy, Tristen, Jake, Lee, Brooke, Tyler, Calla, Travis, Nick and Keith. She also had 24 great grandkids, and 9 great, great grandkids, and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sons, Tom Nelson and Ted Nelson, her husband Danny Feustel, former husband Phil Nelson, brother Ken Brinkmann and sisters Gloria Hadden and Rosalie Peterson.
Her ashes will be buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Wild Rose, WI. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
