Monica R. Kerschner, age 92, of Coloma passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, November 10, 2024 at the Montello Care Center.
She was born November 26, 1931 in Coloma the daughter of Carl and Della (Godson) Ely. She married Myron S. “Mike” Kerschner on September 2, 1950 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2010.
Monica was a graduate of Westfield High School. She was a lifelong faithful member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma where she loved to sing in the choir. Monica also belonged to the Prince of Peace Altar Guild and the women’s group WELCA. She enjoyed being a Cub Scout den mother and singing with the 8th Notes.
She is survived by three sons: Mark (Pam) Kerschner, Coloma, Matthew (Jacci) Kerschner, Coloma, Martin “Marty” (Amy) Kerschner, Appleton; grandchildren: Jody (Christopher) Rabe, Michael Kerschner, Nathan Kerschner, Megan (Darren) Hansen, Chelsey Kerschner, Dustin Kerschner, Katie (Jay) Clark, Marissa (James) DuCharme, David Kerschner and Anna Kerschner; 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Mitchell Kerschner; her grandson, Aric Kerschner; three sisters: Marilyn Roebke, Ruth Kurth and Sandra LeBelle; two brothers: Thomas Ely and Glendon Ely.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. noon at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma with Rev. Blaine O. Niskanen officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Coloma. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital ICU, Montello Care Center, Harris Villa Place and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care of Monica.
