Marvin D. Svacina

Marvin “Marv” Svacina, age 80, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma.

Marv was born November 17, 1945 in Manitowoc, the son of Roman and Emily (Fritsch) Svacina. He was a 1963 graduate of Weyauwega Union High School and a 1967 graduate of UW-Whitewater where he received degrees in Accounting and Economics. Marv belonged to Lamda Ki Alpha Fraternity.

Marv began his career as an accountant at H&R Block. Then in 1973 he moved to the Internal Revenue Service as an Agent Auditor. He retired in 2003. Marv was an avid Wisconsin Badgers fan to say the least. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and listening to polkas EVERY Sunday morning.

He is survived by one brother, Lloyd (Yvonne) Svacina; nieces and nephews: Steve Svacina, Tammy Svacina, Lynn (Scott) Romenesko, Brian (Nicole) Svacina, Julie Svacina, Mike (Kerri) Svacina, Myron (Bobbi) Svacina, Melissa Svacina, Matt (Jie) Svacina, Dean Svacina, Matthew (Leanne Josph) Svacina; special grandnieces: Nicole (Nigel) Ordiway, Stephanie Coppens, Emma Svacina; special grandnephews: Caleb (fiancée Emily) Romenesko and Riley (Kelsey) Romenesko. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Marv was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Arnie (Eleanor), Don (Diane), Norb and by his niece, Cindy Svacina.

The family extends special thanks to the staff of Silver Lake Manor and Compassus Hospice for the care they gave Uncle Marv.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at The Moose Inn, W6846 State Highway 21, Wautoma, WI. If desired, the family encourages the wearing of Wisconsin Badger attire in Marv’s honor.
