Mae E. Allen, age 82, of Wautoma, passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017 at the Wild Rose Manor.
She was born July 21, 1935 in Oregon, IL, the daughter of Raymond and Pauline (Kested) Pettenger. She married Gary Wayne Allen on Feb. 14, 1954 in Rockford, IL. He preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2008.
Mae and her late husband operated Delux Manufacturing Corp. in Wautoma from 1982 until 1998. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, dancing and music.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Deb) Allen, Sheila Brossmann, Brian Allen, Dale (Sandy) Allen; nine grandchildren, Kristopher (Jamie) Allen, Brandon (Amanda) Allen, Troy Burmesch, Trent (Amy) Burmesch, Laura (Kyle) Christenson, Kayla (Kenn) Matthews, James (Elizabeth) Allen, Gary (Kori) Bertram, and Eric (fiancée Desiree) Petrusky; 15 great grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Pettenger and Steve Pettenger; one sister, Lois (Ed) Verkuilen. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen Bertram; grandson, Jake Bertram; her parents; and her siblings, Merle, Shelby and Beverly.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma with Pastor Michael Blair officiating.Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 12 noon until the time of services.
