Lisa Ray Larsen, 69, of Wautoma, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly in her home on March 15th, 2026.
Lisa lived a life guided by quiet strength, deep love, and an unwavering devotion to the people and animals she held close. From her early years, she found her place among horses and nature, building a life that reflected both her gentleness and her resilience. An accomplished equestrian, Lisa carried a lifelong dream of returning to a small farm, where she could once again rescue and care for horses. She had a special love for animals, especially dogs, and found joy in their companionship throughout her life.
Though she was often a large support in the background, Lisa possessed the spirit and presence of someone who could have easily taken center stage. She was generous, thoughtful, and deeply loyal, holding onto lifelong friendships and making sure the people she loved always felt remembered.
To her family, Lisa was everything. She was “Nani-goat” to her granddaughter Henley, a name that will forever carry warmth and laughter. She was a constant confidant and steady source of support to her daughter, Caitlyn, whom she encouraged to live fearlessly and authentically. She held strong through her husband’s successful battle with Cancer despite her own health limitations. She stood beside those she loved, even in times of struggle because she was simply a good person.
She carried deep pride in her roots, having spent her early years in Georgia before graduating high school in Pennsylvania, and always held close the bond she shared with her brothers.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Al Larsen; her daughter, Caitlyn (Cody) Benson; her stepson, Chris (Ricky) Larsen; her granddaughters, Henley and Ava; her grandsons, Chase and Dakota, and one grandson (Oslo) expected in May 2026; her brothers, Howie (Lisa) Ray and Gary Ray; her half-sister, Alyson (Neal) Rutberg; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, David, and her stepson, Vincent.
Lisa’s life was not defined by loud moments, but by steady love, quiet presence, and the way she made others feel seen, supported, and free to be themselves. Her legacy lives on in the courage she inspired, the love she gave so freely, and the countless lives, both human and animal, that she touched.
Services will be private for the family.
In honor of Lisa, donations may be made to the Brandywine Conservancy and Museum of Art in tribute to her lifelong love of the Brandywine River and her connection to the Wyeth family by visiting https://www.brandywine.org/brandywine/support/make-gift and selecting a Tribute.
