Kristin Saunders

Kristin Maureen Saunders of Coloma passed away on March 3rd, 2018 at the age of 29. She was surrounded by her extended family at UW Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Kristin was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on August 3rd, 1988. She was known for her wild hair, baby blue eyes, and contagious laugh. If you knew her, you knew she was more than just a person; she was a full-on experience! If you were any one of her numerous friends, she would undoubtedly refer to you as her “best friend.” It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge that so many have now lost that best friend.

Of all the places Kristin might choose to be, her favorite was at her grandparents’ house on Pleasant Lake. It is no surprise that nothing brought her greater peace and enjoyment than the opportunity to head to the dock for an afternoon of fishing. Likewise, if fishing weren’t on the day’s agenda, a swim or a trip to the point on the paddle boat might be in order. As long as she was in or at the water, she was truly happy.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Natalee Kratz, sister, Nicole (Mick) Beaver, parents, Timothy Saunders and Cathy (Darrell) Zuehlke, and grandparents, Lloyd and Sharon Jongerius. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

If you know of a loved one struggling with addiction, please reach out to them. Let them know there is help available; they don’t need to fight this disease alone. Don’t stop believing that they can overcome the struggle and don’t ever end a conversation without reminding them of just how much they are loved.

Services for Kristin will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 12 noon at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
