Kenneth Schroeder

August 10, 1927 — February 11, 2014

Kenneth L. Schroeder, age 86, of Almond, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at the Portage County Health Care Center, Stevens Point. He was born August 10, 1927 in the Town of Buena Vista, Portage County, the son of Edward and Florence (Tetzloff) Schroeder. Kenneth served his country in United States Army as a telephone/telegraph lineman. Afterward, Dad was employed for many years as a welder/pipefitter for J.F. Ahern Construction of Fond du Lac and was a proud member of the Local 400. Ken loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his spare time, Dad enjoyed and singing playing guitar. He is survived by one son: Gary (Kathleen) Schroeder, Oshkosh; six grandchildren: Nathan Schroeder, Amanda Schroeder, Nicholaus (Holly) Schroeder, Jessie Schroeder, Noah Schroeder, and Adam Schroeder, all of Oshkosh; seven great grandchildren: Patience, Enoch, Michael, Tillie, Titus, Evelyn, and McKenzie, three sisters: Jeanette Davis, Oshkosh, Wilma Pekarske, Appleton, Beverly (Lupe) Sanchez, Oshkosh; two brothers: Llewelyn (Carrie) Schroeder, Plainfield, Melvin James (Doreen) Schroeder, West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Donna Schroeder, Plainfield, Karen Schroeder, Wisconsin Rapids. Ken is further survived and was a loving step father to Greg, Jeff, and Tina; by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard and Arleigh, son Donald, and daughters Diane and Lynn Marie. A special "Thank You" goes to the medical staff at the facilities over the past few years for their care, understanding and help as Dad and family went through difficult times.
