Judith Winkelmann

Judith A. Winkelmann, age 78, of Hancock passed away peacefully Saturday, September 27th, 2014 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born on October 1st, 1936 in Waukesha, the daughter of Hubert and Lucille Garbe. She married Arthur Winkelmann on June 9th 1956 in Hales Corners. She was introduced to Arthur at a picnic by Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bourdo, mutual friends. She worked many years at Shady Acres in New Berlin. She loved being outdoors! They moved to Hancock, where they made their home and Judith worked at Howie's a grocery store in Hancock, for quite a few years. Over the years Judith also enjoyed spending time with family, rummaging, collecting and picking mushrooms.



Judith is survived by her five grandchildren: Tamie (Tyler) Smith, Wild Rose, Marie (Jacob) Renner, Oshkosh, Renee Winkelmann, Wautoma, Nicole (Larry) Anderson, Plainfield, Dillion (Mindie,deceased) Gray, Neshkoro; seven great-grandchildren: Autumn and Andre Stern, Amelia and Bailey Gray, Rosalie Renner, Hunter and Megan Smith; two brothers: Robert (Sharon) Garbe, Richard (Kathy) Garbe; one sister: Joan Garbe; daughter-in-law: Wendy Winkelmann; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Arthur; sons; Steven and Lawrence Winkelmann; granddaughter: Mindie Gray and niece: Gail Schattschneider.



Memorial services will be held at 4PM on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church, Wautoma. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Roger G. Riedel. The family will greet relatives and friends at church from 3PM until the time of services at 4PM.
