On May 6, 2026, the Lord called Josephine “Joey” L. Bielmeier, 84, of Wautoma, home peacefully with her family by her side. Her heart overflowing with treasured memories of her late beloved husband, her children and grandchildren, and countless dear relatives and friends. In her lifetime she was devoted to her lifelong late husband, children, grandchildren, and friends. There are women whose love is felt for a moment...And then there are women whose love becomes woven into the very soul of a family for generations to come.
She is survived by her children Christine (Thomas) Feldhusen, West Bend; Catherine (Barry) Ransom, Berlin; Paula (Tyler) Caswell, Wild Rose; Tammy (Jason) Harelstad, New Auburn; Troy (Jessica) Bielmeier, Wautoma. Cherished grandmother of Andrew, Lauren and Alexandra Feldhusen; Jenna (Karl) Branske; Ashley (Thomas) Friday, Anna Caswell; Whitley (fiancée Tyler), Alexia, and AJ Harelstad; Kelsey Michalski, Nolan, and Josephine Bielmeier. Beloved sister of Mary Olson; sisters -in-law Irene (Darwin) Wegenke, and Patsy (Jim) Lichtenberg; brothers – in-law Fred (Judy) Bielmeier, Carl “Jim” (Polly) Bielmeier, Daniel (Jill) Bielmeier, David (Janice) Bielmeier. She is survived also by countless relatives and friends.
Joey was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, parents, sister Florence, brother -in- laws Harold Olson, Raymond Bielmeier, and John Angst, sister -in-laws Virginia Agnst, and Lois Bielmeier, nephews Steven Bielmeier and Jason Agnst.
Joey was born August 30, 1941, to Lawrence and Dorothy (nee Nowak) Hahn in Wautoma, Wisconsin. She married her high school sweetheart, Joseph, October 13, 1962. They remained in Wautoma, building their home and raising their children, attending their sporting events and concerts. Her greatest joy was her family. She was known to always have fresh cookies in the cookie jar. She and her sister owned a gift shop, The Cottage, in Wautoma for several years. She was a very active member of the Christian Women’s group at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She loved family dinners, baking, arranging flowers, and playing cards. She would challenge anyone to a game of cribbage. She loved road trips with family and traveling the country with her late dear friends Nancy and Gene West.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday. May 12, 2026, at 1 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wautoma, Wisconsin, immediately following Mass.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Joey’s memory.
