Jean Elizabeth (Nygren) Remy, 75, died Wednesday March 16th, surrounded by her loving family. After suffering several medical conditions she passed safely into the hands of Jesus.
Jean was born in Boscobel, WI on November 20th, 1940. On September 10, 1960 she married the love of her life Douglas and moved to Cross Plains, WI and raised 4 kids. She worked at local nursing homes as a RN and retired from the Dean Medical System in 2000.
After she retired they moved to Wautoma, WI on the lake and in her free time she enjoyed drinking coffee every morning as the sun rose, volunteering at several churches, sewing, and taking care of her grandkids. Everyone who met Jean was immediately touched by her generous and outgoing personality and her dedication towards everything in life.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents David and Pauline Zwolanek, brother David Zwolanek Jr, her son Robert and her husband Douglas Nygren. She is survived by her husband Richard Remy, her sisters Mary Ann Rinker, Ruth and Gary Schoen, Shirley Reuter, Nancy and Alex Hawkins, Sharon and Tom Springer, brother Steve Zwolanek and sister in law Carol Zwolanek, her children Jim Nygren, Tina and Robert Topp, Lori and Bill Wassing, and her grandchildren Courtney and Cierra Nygren, Ben Hahn, Beth Topp (Travis Schroeder) Kevin Topp, Brandon Wassing and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30AM on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wautoma with burial at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Cross Plains. The family will greet relatives and friends at Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 9:30AM - 11AM followed by Mass at 11:30AM at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in Jean's name to the American Cancer Society. www.cancer.org/donate
