Jay Chibe

Joseph Jay Chibe, age 65, of Wautoma, WI passed away early Wednesday morning, October 8, 2025 at Theda Care Medical Center in Appleton, WI.

He was born December 2, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Joseph J. and Joyce M. (McGregor) Chibe. Jay was a graduate of Lutheran South High School in Chicago. He later graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago campus. He was employed by Metropolitan Chicago Health Care Council as food purchasing director for 25 years.

He and his husband, Dennis Dirindin moved to rural Wautoma in 1998 from Chicago. Jay was active with Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s patients in Wautoma. He also was very active with Waushara County Department of Aging Senior Dining program. Jay loved his canine and feline companions. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his husband, Dennis Dirindin, Wautoma; his mother, Joyce M. McGregor, Chicago; four brothers: Russell (Nancy) Chibe, Darien, IL, Edward (Maria) Chibe, Florida, Charlie Chibe, Chicago, Scott Chibe. Chicago. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Jay was preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. Chibe.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Jay’s memory.

Further visitation and services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Avenue, Summit, Il 60501. Viewing will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the funeral service at 7:30 p.m.
