It was on June 8, 2025, that James M. Mosling passed away at Ascension Mercy Hospital after a long battle with liver and kidney complications.
Jim was born on September 17, 1953, to Donald and Agnes (Mortensen) Mosling. Throughout his childhood, his family moved often as his father pursued ministry work. They eventually settled in Oshkosh, where his father joined his grandpa to work at what was then known as Oshkosh Truck. Following in his father’s footsteps, Jim joined the company after graduating from UW-Oshkosh and dedicated over 40 years to a career at what became Oshkosh Corporation.
More than a committed employee and respected leader, Jim was a devoted husband and loving father. He met the love of his life, Gloria, at UW-Oshkosh, and the two were married on October 13, 1979. Together, they raised six children who were the joy of their lives and kept them busy.
Jim always found a way to enjoy his favorite pastimes—and shared them with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and card player. As a passionate sports enthusiast, Jim especially enjoyed cheering on his kids and grandkids in whatever sport they played.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Agnes; brothers, David, Paul, and Christopher; and his nephew, JC. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Mosling; his children, Tiffani (Matthew) Gelhar, April (Matt) Kufel, James Mosling, Jessica Mosling, Jacob (Morgan) Mosling, and Andrew Mosling; and his cherished grandchildren, Noah, Isaac, Eli, Caleb, Brayden, Carter, Brookelyn, and Armando. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol (Pat) Morley and Jan Thompson; brother-in-law, Greg Banks; sister-in-law, Debbie Lounsbrough Mosling and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A service to honor Jim’s life will be held at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church located at 830 S Westhaven Dr, Oshkosh, WI 54904 on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Visitation will take place from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., followed by Mass at 5:30 p.m. A time for fellowship and celebration of Jim’s life will follow the service.
