Haven graduated from Neshkoro High School in 1942 and completed one semester of college at UW-Madison before enlisting in the US Army January 26, 1943. He met Anne Mae Maus while stationed at Ft Monmouth NJ and they married August 17, 1946. Upon leaving the Army, Haven returned to UW-Madison and completed his BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for the DNR 16 years and retired shortly after his loving wife Anne passed away in 1987. Haven was a loyal member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi WI.
Haven was a special person with a unique sense of humor. He lived his life with a Servant’s heart and we rejoice that he is now in the presence of the Lord. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Grandpa spent hours teaching his grandchildren many things; mowing grass, cutting wood, painting, driving a stick shift or repairing just about anything. Most importantly, his legacy lives on in his grandchildren because he instilled in them a positive work ethic and good citizenship.
Haven was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Alden Weckwerth, sisters Yvonne Priebe, Arlene Gaulke, Velva Weink, one sister-in-law, three brothers-in-law and one niece. Haven is survived by his sister Donna (Dave) Redemann, his loving children, Linda (Mike) Mollenhour, Knoxville TN, Carol (Dean) Jeffery, Pickett WI, Sue (Jeffrey) Wise, Wautoma WI, Robert (Kathy) Weckwerth, Dale WI, 12 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation for Haven will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM December 14, 2019 at the Emmaus Lutheran Church, W2185 Cty H, Poy Sippi, WI.
