Harry Peck Jr., passed away peacefully Friday, June 19, 2026 surrounded by his family after losing his second battle with cancer.
Harry Jr was born April 2, 1955, to Harry Sr. and Marilyn (Murray) Peck. He grew up in Wautoma, WI working for his family’s establishment, Peck’s Plantation, until moving to Portage, WI in 1976 when they purchased Peck’s Crestwood Inn. The previous owners of the Crestwood, George and Carol Sellers, introduced Harry to their daughter Pamela, and “it was love at first sight.” They were married on March 26th 1985 in Las Vegas with some of their close friends and family by their side. They had a bond of marriage that many don’t, and they rarely spent a day apart, Harry was half of Pam and she for him. They had three beautiful daughters, Nicole, Andrea and Leslie, and two wonderful grandchildren, Sykora and Colton. He may have only recently been blessed with his grandson, but he loved being a “girl” dad. He adored his daughters and would do anything for them, and then you saw that same gentle, energetic spirit return when his granddaughter was born. He was the dad that everyone wished they had and was the same way as a Papa.
From his Daughters: “Where do we even start when trying to write just one paragraph about a man with the biggest heart, and personality that was loved by so many people? Growing up in the service industry, Dad had quite the knack for entertaining and hosting. His work ethic was beyond measure and it was evident to anyone that saw him in action, it's clear he instilled that same trait in us girls as well. Dad also showed love to everyone through his cooking, if you were one of the lucky ones, you may have had the chance to try some homemade Italian sausage, fresh pepper relish or spaghetti sauce. Maybe you remember having the best Friday Fish Fry ever or Ho Hee’s Kickin Chicken cooked by our mom and dad, that’s love on a plate! Another thing we will never forget is dad’s way of telling stories, he was such an animated storyteller, and boy did he have some good ones. However, if you heard one of them, you know that he had to “set the stage” and also include Every. Single. Detail...3 minutes later cue mom saying, “Alright Harry, get to the point!” Eventually he would get to the point (John, It’s out THERE! Danny, whatever you do, Don’t Drop It! Hewy Hewy I got a hook in my nose.), after that you would be laughing and feel like you were right there when it happened! We hope we just brought you back to a time when you heard him tell a story and it made you smile. We just still can’t believe Dad isn’t here with us, he leaves behind a huge hole in our hearts and a legacy that we promise we will carry forward. The next time you raise a glass, do it in honor of our dad, Saaaalute!”
Harry is survived by his wife, Pamela J (Sellers) Peck, daughters; Nicole Peck, Andrea Peck and Leslie (Devin) Peck. Beloved Grandfather “Papa” to 11 year old Sykora Reynolds and 4 month old Colton Barkalow. He is also survived by Sisters Kathleen Steger, Mary (Louis) Lochner, Judith (Steve) Peck, Laura (Scott) Bscherer, Analisa Peck and Lucinda Pradmore. He is also survived by his Brother; John (Nancy) Peck along with several other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Daniel Peck and brother-in-law William Steger.
Harry was a man that touched the hearts of so many and shaped the lives of numerous young employees that looked up to him. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a future date in September, as we figure out how to best honor this great man that spent his entire life hosting and entertaining all of us.
