Gladys Lehman

August 8, 1919 — March 10, 2014

Gladys Irene Lehman, age 94, peacefully closed her eyes to this world and opened them to see her Savior's face on Monday March 10, 2014.



She was born August 8, 1919 in the Township of Shields, Marquette County, the daughter of William and Mary (Hazelbauer) Berndt. She married Harvey A. Lehman on April 24, 1938 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Richford. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1989.



She and her late husband farmed in the Town of Richford for many years. Gladys was a humble woman who loved her Lord, her family and always shared whatever she had with others. She was a wonderful cook, baker and hostess to family and friends. She especially liked to go fishing with her favorite cane pole. Gladys will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her kind and caring ways. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma.



She is survived by eight children, Jean (Thomas) Williams, Burlington, Diana (Clarence) Galecki, Sierra Vista, AZ, Anita (Ken) Dunnett, Plainfield, Lynn (Linda) Lehman, Wautoma, Marlene Wissmueller, Milwaukee, Harlan (Marie) Lehman, Montello, Joanne Acker, Athens, Norriss (Rachel) Lehman, Wautoma; also 18 grandchildren, Carson (Peggy) Williams, Teresa (Todd) Dittman; Anja (Mark) Slate, Olivia (Curt) Talma, Whitney (Andy) Moscinski; Joshua (Marcey) Lehman, Julia (Todd) Bell, Jason (Angie) Lehman; Adrienne (Leo) Budnik, Erin (Eric) Volkman, Adam (Abby) Wissmueller; David (Kristi) Lehman, Bradley (Holly) Lehman; Hannah Acker (fiancé Shane Lang), Joseph Acker; Joshua Lehman (Dana Price), Rebecca Lehman, Carma (Chad) Cody; 34 great grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and dear friends.



In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Mary Jane Galecki; her great grandson, Logan Lehman; four brothers, Elgin, Louis, Edwin, and Paul "Rudy" Berndt; two sisters, Adeline Noviello and Minnie Brietzke.



A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 12 Noon at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma with Rev. Robert Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Richford Cemetery.



Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Church. A Memorial is being established for Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Coloma.



The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma for their care.
