Ellen L. Colborn

Ellen Lou Colborn, age 86, of Wautoma passed away peacefully in the presence of family Tuesday morning, March 21, 2023 at Heartland House in Wautoma.

She was born December 27, 1936 in Waukesha, the daughter of LeRoy and Flora (Wagner) Lagon. She married Raymond L. Colborn on August 6, 1958 in Waukesha.

Ellen was a 1955 graduate of Waukesha High School. She worked as a Ward Clerk the former Wood V.A. Clinic in Milwaukee. She and her husband resided at rural Dousman for a number of years before moving to Helenville. They moved to Wautoma in 1987 where they attended Hope Lutheran Church. Ellen enjoyed growing house plants, raising horses, their dogs and gardening. She will be fondly remembered for always making sure there was coffee, tea and treats for the staff at Heartland House. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond L. Colborn, Wautoma; two children, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Colborn, Manitowoc and Donna (Steven) Georgeson, Milton; four grandchildren, Samantha (Peter), Brandy, Amanda, Jeremiah, along with three step grandchildren; two great grandchildren, Axel and Archer. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Ellen is preceded in death by her parents and three special aunts: Edith, Ethel and Helen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma with Rev. Paul Michael Thomas of Hope Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Hope Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 12 noon until the time of services at the funeral home.

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Heartland House and Theda Care Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Ellen.
