Elaine Evans

Elaine R. Evans, age 94, of Wautoma, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 17, 2016 at Heartland House in Wautoma.

She was born March 24, 1922 in Racine, the daughter of George and Marie (Stracke) Ruetz. She married Robert J. Evans on Dec. 11, 1942 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Racine. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1985.

Elaine was a graduate of St. Catherine High School in Racine. She was manager of the Admitting Office at Kenosha Hospital and later was office manager for Drs. Burnett, Heck & Przylomski in Kenosha. Elaine and her late husband moved to Wautoma in 1980. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She belonged to Wautoma Women's Club, AARP, Wautoma Homemakers, Waushara/Wautoma Senior Citizens and Wild Rose Red Hats Society. Elaine volunteered at the Wautoma Bloodmobile and McCombs/Bruchs Performing Arts Center.

She is survived by her son, Donald (Janet) Evans, Kenosha; two granddaughters, Jennifer Burns and Jacqueline (James) May Sr.; three great grandchildren, Colleen Burns, Jennifer (Kyle) Dennison, and James May Jr; two nieces, Kathy Satzman, Boca Raton, FL, Patricia Dunk, Racine; nephew, Michael (Linda) Murrow, Adelphia, MD . She is further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mildred Murrow, Lois Weaver and Joan Russell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma. Entombment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Kenosha.

Visitation will be held at the Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
