Dorothy Jenny Avis Nelson, age 97, formerly of Almond and Adams, WI passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 after a short stay at Oakridge Gardens, Menasha, WI.
She was born Aug. 20, 1919 in Milwaukee, the daughter of James and Minnie (Decker) Hoover.
She is survived by her three daughters, Avis Haviland, Little Chute, Deanna (Raymond) Thompson, Oshkosh, Bonny (Daniel) Gustin, Neshkoro; one brother, Clarence Samuel Hoover, the Philippines; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Reuben Ellsworth Nelson; one son, Dennis Ellsworth Nelson; infant granddaughter, Denise Nelson; her parents, James & Minnie (Decker) Hoover; her son-in-law, Richard Andrew Haviland Sr.; her grandson-in-law,
Dayle Daniel Zant; her granddaughter-in-law, Cynthia Haviland; and by eight siblings.
Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, N2287 17th Drive, Wautoma, on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held at the Kingdom Hall on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
