Dorothea A. "Dottie" Barkow, age 84, died at home on Wednesday, April 28, 2010.
She was born December 4, 1925 in East Troy, WI, the only child of William J. and Bertha (Bahr) Ames. She married Donald H. Barkow on May 29, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI.
Dorothea is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter Gail (John W.) Armstrong; son Richard K. (Mary) Barkow and granddaughter Monica (Todd) Doehrmann.
She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Brenda Barkow.
After the death of her mother in 1957, Dottie was comforted with the Bible's hope of resurrection to life on earth. In 1962, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and began a faithful career of sharing that same Bible hope in congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses in Wisconsin Rapids, Wautoma, Merrill, WI and Clermont, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, N2287 17th Drive, Wautoma with Richard Shear officiating.
