Daniel McComb

Daniel W. McComb, age 68, of Wautoma, was called home on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born Sept. 20, 1946 in St. Louis, MO, and later adopted by Anton and Katherine (Potocny) Simanovsky. He married Millie Anne Simo on June 27, 1970 at Berwyn United Lutheran Church in Berwyn, IL. Dan and his wife resided in Stickney, IL for many years before moving to Wautoma in 2005. He was Assistant Vice President of Founders Insurance. Dan served as Lieutenant firefighter/paramedic with the Stickney Fire Department for many years. He was Deputy Chief of the Illinois Police Auxiliary. Dan was a faithful member of Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma. He is survived by his wife, Millie Anne McComb, Wautoma; two sons, Don (Victoria) McComb, Countryside, IL, David (Susan) McComb, Wautoma; four grandchildren, Danny, Alex, Wyatt, and Braeden; his mother, Katherine Simanovsky, Wautoma; brother, Kirk (Linda) Simanovsky, along with their children, Kiera and Tiana, of Washburn, WI; brother-in-law, M. Andy (Cherie) Simo, and their children, Steven and Melanie, of Riverside, IL. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Anton Simanovsky. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Rev. Sarah Timian officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 301 E. Mt. Morris Ave., Wautoma and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
