Cecelia Murray

Cecelia Ruth Murray, age 104, of Hancock, WI peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. She was born in West VA on August 20, 1910. Cecelia was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Benedict, and two loving daughters Ruth and Marcella.

Cecelia lived in the Mundelein/Libertyville, IL area most of her life. She experienced many memorable adventures with her family during the 1960's & 1970's while living and assisting in the operation of her daughter's Ruth (Gallagher) Brandywine Falls Resort, Whistler, B.C., Canada. She was an avid artist and storyteller, had an adventurous and unbelievable optimistic spirit, and was a relentless seeker of knowledge. She loved singing, listening to classical music, reading, gardening, creating unique arts and crafts and holiday traditions, writing letters and poetry, and always remembering her loved ones.

Cecelia was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her children: William & Brigitte Murray of Missoula, MT, James & Anne Murray of Mission, B.C. Canada, Barbara & Fred Kloth of Hancock, WI, and Joan & Frank Dorogi of Blairsville, GA; 13 grandchildren: Julie, Brandy, Nicole, Kris, Jon, Jennifer, Aleyce, Jim, Kathryn, Shari, Joseph, David and Michael; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Plainfield and burial will be at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL on Wednesday August 12, 2015 at 11AM The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of mass at 11AM and again at the cemetery prior to graveside services. Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
