Carol Schaeffer

Carol June Schaeffer, age 77 of Wautoma passed away after a long battle with cancer on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Thedacare Hospital-Hospice, Berlin with her loving, caring husband by her side. Carol was born in Milwaukee on March 3, 1942 to Arnold and Ruth (Kees) Johnson. After high school she attended UW Milwaukee and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. She then worked for M&I Bank in Milwaukee. On August 17, 1963 she married her high school sweetheart, Patrick Schaeffer in Milwaukee.  In 1988 Carol and Patrick retired to Waushara County. Carol enjoyed cooking, baking bread, spending time on Lake Winnebago at the summer cottage, outdoor activities and spending time with her family. She attended Waushara Community Church for many years.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 56 years: Patrick Schaeffer; sons: Daniel Schaeffer, Wautoma, Steve Schaeffer, Wild Rose, Dave Schaeffer, Ashland; grandsons: Bradley Schaeffer, Ashland, Evan Schaeffer, MN; brother: Phil (Dolores) Johnson, New Berlin; nieces: Susie (Chris) Rasmussen, Waukesha, Jenny (Doug) Lange, Scottsdale, AZ; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private services will be held at a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Wild Rose.
