Bliss "Butch" Edward Crane

Bliss “Butch” Edward Crane, age 78 of Neshkoro passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton, surrounded by his family.  He was born in Milwaukee on June 9, 1944 to Bliss and Clara (Krey) Crane. Butch served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He married Maureen Buchholz at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Montello on April 25, 1970; they were blessed with 52 years together.  Bliss worked at the Berlin Foundry for 43 years.  He enjoyed watching the wildlife around his home, reading, golfing, bowling, hunting, traveling, camping, and a good game of cards.  In his later years he looked forward to Gator rides in the woods, especially with his grandkids.  He was a die-hard Brewers fan to the end, but would settle for a Bucks, Packers, or Badgers game.  Family and friends will miss his sense of humor and tendency to stretch the truth.

Bliss is survived by his wife: Maureen; children: Melissa (Eric) Boettcher, Christiane Jahnke, Michael (April) Crane; grandchildren: Brooklyn and Bethany Boettcher, Dylan and Peyton Jahnke, Emma and Elly Crane; brother: Gilbert Crane; sisters: Audrey (Richard) Knopp, Barbara (David) Lovett; aunt: Ardell Albers; sister-in-law: Darlene Crane; brother-in-law: Dennis Reetz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather: Rollo Bryant and siblings: Dean, Patsy and Adrian.

Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Neshkoro on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 11:30AM with burial and military honors at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of services at 11:30AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Neshkoro.
