Betty Wegenke

Betty Jean Wegenke, age 74, of Wautoma, died unexpectedly on Friday February 19, 2016 at her home. She was born on July 26, 1941 in Hancock to Herbert and Aletha "Lydia" (Manthey) Bohn. Betty graduated from Tri-County High School in Plainfield. On October 21, 1961 she married Larry D. Wegenke at Grace Lutheran Church, Deerfield. The couple farmed in Wautoma for many years. Betty also worked at Waushara Industries for many years. She enjoyed the animals on the farm, knitting, gardening and canning, spending time with her family and in the later years, spending time at the Senior Center.

Betty is survived by her husband: Larry Wegenke; daughters: Darlene Wegenke, Wautoma, Charlene (Clete) Zills, Waupun; granddaughters: Courtney, Candis, Christal Zills; brother: Delbert (Mary) Bohn, Wautoma; aunt: Leona (Lloyd) Fry, Rockford, IL; sister-in-law: Marilyn Holland, Adell, WI; special friend and care giver: Janice Gregory; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son: Bryan and brother: Darwin Bohn.

Funeral service will be held at 12PM (NOON) on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wautoma with Pastor Brian Rohde officiating. Burial will follow in Wautoma Union Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 12PM (NOON).
