Barbara L. Wedde

Barbara L. Wedde, age 99, of Wautoma, passed away early Saturday morning, April 11, 2026 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

She was born May 1, 1926 in the Township of Wautoma, the daughter of Hugh and Pearl (Johannes) Scovell. She married Arden E. Wedde on October 24, 1948 in Wautoma. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2000.

Barbara was a 1945 graduate of Wautoma High School. She worked at: the former Badger Ordnance Works until the end of World War II, the Oshkosh Northwestern at the Wautoma office. Later, she was employed at the Ben Franklin store in Wautoma. Barb also was a church secretary and worked at The Vintage Shoppes, Wautoma.

Barb enjoyed dancing and loved to square dance, polka dance, round dance and line dance. She was skilled at sewing and knitting and would make many of her own clothes. She loved to cook and will be remembered for always looking for new recipes to try. She also enjoyed gardening and her flowers. Barb was deeply devoted to her family and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by three sons: Terrence, Wautoma, Thomas, Portland, Oregon, Mark, Wautoma; one sister, Betty Edwards, Wautoma; her brother-in-law, Gordon Marks, Wautoma. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Bernice Marks and Bernadyne (Darrell) Schultz; brother-in-law: Donald Edwards.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Township of Dakota. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until time of services.
