Arnold Raatz

Arnold H. Raatz, age 76, of Wautoma, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011, at Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital. He was born August 26, 1934 in Wautoma, the son of Dorothy J. Raatz. Arnold married Edith L. (Frodermann) Micklitz on June 10, 1978 in Milwaukee. He grew up on the family homestead in the Town of Wautoma. Arnold spent much of his working life on the road including working at Speed Queen, the Waushara Argus Newspaper, Oshkosh Northwestern Newspaper, Buyers Guide and the Department of Natural Resources. He also was an active member of several wildlife societies. Arnold was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma. He is survived by his wife, Edith L. Raatz, Wautoma; his children, Robert W. Raatz, Green Bay, Theresa (Allen) Eimerman, Fond du Lac, Mary (Israel) Rodriguez, Texas, Sue (Greg) Courter, Oshkosh, Joseph (Laura) Micklitz, Coloma, Bill Micklitz, Green Bay, Mike (Ruth) Micklitz, Appleton; grandchildren, Lisa (Aaron) Russel, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Pat Eimerman, Los Angeles, CA., Christopher Eimerman, New York, NY., Abigail Courter, Madison, Emily Courter, Milwaukee, Ethan Courter, Oshkosh, Hannah Courter, Oshkosh, Milan (Ashley) Gerber, Mississippi, and Jeffrey Gerber, Wautoma; three great grandchildren, Sara Russel, Brayden Gerber, and Aubrey Gerber. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy J. Dunn. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Rev. Roger Riedel officiating. Burial will be at Wautoma Union Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma and at the Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
