Arlene L. Strejc, age 70, of Hancock, passed away early Monday morning, May 17, 2010 at Whistling Arbors, CBRF in Wautoma.
She was born August 16, 1939 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Rose Uteg. She married Albert "Al" Cichy. He preceded her in death in August of 1982. She later married Laddie M. Strejc on August 1990.
Arlene worked for Heartland Farms of Hancock for 10 years. She was a member of the Hancock/Coloma American Legion Auxillary. Mrs. Strejc lived an active life, she enjoyed bowling, gardening and caring for her hummingbirds.
She is survived by her husband Laddie M. Strejc, Hancock; her children, Ronald (Sue) Cichy, Hancock, Al (Annabelle) Cichy, Bakersfield, CA., Teri Jarosz, Chicago; Laddies children, Kristen (Thomas) Gast, Germany, Jill Strejc, Los Angeles, CA., Grant (Sara) Strejcz, Dancy, WI.; grandchildren, Robin, Heather, Tanya, Gineva, Gavin, Jeremiah and Jonathan; a sister, Rosemarie Krieg, Villa Park, IL.; further survived by nieces and nephews of the Uteg family, other relatives and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Herb and John Uteg.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of services. A American Legion Auxillary Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home of Plainfield assisted the family with arrangements, www.plainfieldfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial to the Hancock Community Center, Attn. Ann Sigourney 232 N. Main Street, Hancock, WI 54943.
