Alfred “Skip” Clyde Swanson age 81 of Berlin, WI, formerly of Elgin, IL passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born in Elgin on January 14, 1944 to Alve and Beatrice (Matteson) Swanson. While in high school, Skip was drafted by the U.S. Army but was stationed stateside due to his brother already in Vietnam. He was later honorably discharged. On October 14, 1967 he married Judy Bidenkap in Crystal Lake, IL. Skip worked at a Brick Layer until his retirement. He enjoyed puzzles, woodworking and his dog. Skip was a big hearted man that would do just about anything to help his family and neighbors.

Skip is survived by his wife: Judy Swanson; four sisters; three brothers; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private interment services with military honors will be held at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock, IL. Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma is assisting the family with arrangements. www.leiknessfuneralhome.
