Adwina Jarvis

July 11, 1931 — May 30, 2016

Adwina Mildred Jarvis, age 84, of Wautoma, was called to her eternal home on Monday, May 30, 2016.

She was born July 11, 1931 in Winnebago County, the daughter of Martin and Mildred (Niebauer) Fritz. Her family moved to Wautoma in the mid 1940's where she worked in her father's grocery store for many years. Adwina also worked at Miles Kimball Co. and the A&W where she met her future husband, Robert Jarvis. They were married on October 24, 1953. While being a loving homemaker and raising the children, she also did bookkeeping for her father at Fritz Sand and Gravel until he retired and sold the business in March 1968.

She loved cooking and baking for her family, crocheting and making many items out of plastic canvas. Adwina also loved collecting cardinals, bells and stamps. Making puzzles and reading were her favorite pastimes along with playing Rummikub at any holiday gathering.

She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served on the Ladies Aid, Altar Guild and served Kool Aid and cookies for Vacation Bible School for many years and became known as the Kool Aid Lady. She also helped count the collection for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Mildred Fritz; her sisters, Evelyn Correard and Jane in infancy; her husband, Robert Jarvis and her son-in-law, Ronne Rogers.

Adwina is survived by one brother, Everett (Donna) Fritz, Redgranite; her children, Steven (Bette) Jarvis, Wisconsin Dells, Kathy Rogers, Wautoma, Linda Jarvis, Wautoma, David Jarvis, Waupaca, Mark (Valerie) Jarvis, Wautoma, and Carol Jarvis, Wautoma; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Paulson, Burnet, TX, Kristina Jarvis, Wisconsin Dells, and Charlie Jarvis, Wautoma; great grandchildren, Sasha and Noelle Paulson, Burnet, TX. She is further survived by many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to thank all the staff of Heartland House for all the wonderful care, especially, Bev Walker and Denise Stahl, also to St. Agnes Hospice for all their loving care.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 12 noon at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Rev. Brian Rohde officiating. Burial will be at Wautoma Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
