Aaron A. Murphy, age 51 of Wautoma, passed away unexpectedly in his home in the early morning hours of November 17th, 2021. Aaron entered the Wisconsin Department of Corrections in 1995 following his time in the United States Air Force where he was deployed during the Gulf War and was planning his retirement as a Correctional Sergeant from Redgranite Correctional Institution.
Aaron loved the outdoors. He was happiest in the woods hunting or on the water fishing. Whether walking the tiers of RGCI, in the woods or on the water, he was never far from his family. Amazing father to: Jake and Beau Murphy, bonus dad to Brandon (Samantha) Johnson and Kenny (Alex) Johnson, “Chief” Bompa Bear to his grandson Jaxon Johnson, soulmate of his wife Jennifer Murphy, son of Christine Murphy and Ken Murphy. Aaron was the heart of his family.
Words cannot summarize a man who was larger than life as Aaron was. Anyone who met him could share a story. Let us all carry him with us as we remember him. He leaves us with much love in our hearts and many memories filled with laughter. He will walk beside his family and Brothers in Blue watching over us all as he always did. Fly high and carefree Big Murph. We will meet again.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2PM to 6PM on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021 at the WWII Memorial Building. A time of Remembrance will be held at 6PM with Military Honors to follow.
