Thomas “Tom” Lee Spanbauer, age 69 of Wild Rose, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 8, 2018 after a year battle with terminal ampullary cancer. He was born on April 19, 1948 in Oshkosh to Joseph and Marion (Doemel) Spanbauer. After graduating from Oshkosh High School, Tom became a Respiratory Therapist and then later he went to work at the Neenah Foundry, where he worked as a Maintenance Electrician and in the cell. He retired from the foundry after 36 ½ years of employment. On August 27, 1976 he married Mary Keipe. When Tom retired, the couple moved to Wild Rose and became caretakers at Enchanted Forest Campground in Wild Rose. After several years of being caretakers the couple moved to their dream home in Wild Rose. This is where Tom discovered his passion of working with seniors. He became the Senior Dining Center Manager in Wild Rose for the Waushara County Department of Aging. Over the years, Tom was involved in The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Wild Rose Lions Club and the community of Wild Rose. Tom loved fishing, hunting, camping and his poodles. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Tom is survived by his daughters: Shelly Farvour and her children: Jack III and Juliana Farvour, Tracy (Josh) Haehl and their children: Gavin and Carter Haehl; great grandson: Keaton Farvour; significant other: Beverly “Bev” Butzlaff, whom the family is eternally grateful for. It was a blessing that Tom and Bev found love; as well as his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson: Keaton Haehl and brother: Michael Spanbauer.

Memorial services will be held at 11AM on Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Saxeville.
