Lillian M. Simenson

April 21, 1929 ~ May 26, 2019 (age 90)

Lillian M. Simenson, age 90, formerly of Wautoma, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 26, 2019 at Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.

She was born April 21, 1929 in Green Lake County, the daughter of Harry and Effie (Beier) Mace. Lillian married Howard W. Simenson on May 29, 1954 at Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma.

Lillian and her husband farmed for 41 years in the Town of Deerfield, growing their small farm to over 200 head of Holsteins and 500 acres. They hosted Waushara County’s first June Dairy Breakfast on their homestead in 1988.  After they retired from farming, She and her husband were active with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the America Mission Builders program. They were proud to have worked on 15 church building projects from 1993 until 2003.

Lillian was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in the Town of Deerfield. She belonged to Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Plover.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Howard W. Simenson, Plover; two children, Wayne Simenson, Amherst and Brenda (Shannon) Riley, Janesville; two grandchildren, Cole Riley and Kera Riley, both of Janesville. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers, Harold (Marion) Mace and Richard (Marion) Mace.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma. Burial will follow at Hope Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma or Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Plover.
