Norma Hilgert

Norma Irene Hilgert, age 94 of Wautoma, formerly of Coloma passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Heartland House, Wautoma. She was born on June 22, 1926 in Coloma to Harvey A. and Emma (Bandt) Slater. Norma graduated from Hancock High School, Class of 1943. On April 21, 1946 she married Ken Richards in Hancock and the couple raised five foster children. Ken passed away on August 22, 1993. Norma then married Merle Hilgert on July 1, 1995 in Coloma. Merle passed away on September 4, 2003. Norma was a homemaker and worked as an Insurance Agent for Mount Morris Insurance Company. She was an active member of Calvary Methodist Church, Calvary United Methodist Women and American Legion Auxiliary. Upon moving to Wautoma, Norma then joined Grace United Methodist Church.

Norma’s family includes five foster children and their families; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Grace United Methodist Church, Wautoma with private burial in Hillside Cemetery, Coloma. The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Thursday from 10AM until the time of services at 11AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial can be given to Calvary United Methodist Church, Coloma or Grace United Methodist Church, Wautoma.
