Bernice Eleanor (Serwe) Timler, age 94 of Wautoma, formerly of Fond du Lac passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018 at Heartland House in Wautoma.
She was born May 2, 1923 in Nenno, Wisconsin to parents Simon J. and Mary (Moser) Serwe. Bernice grew up in Campbellsport and graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1941. She married Lawrence “Pete” Timler on September 30, 1944 at St. Matthew’s Church in Campbellsport, WI. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1999. Bernice was a room mother at Elizabeth Waters School in Fond du Lac; a Teacher’s Aid and Band Mother at St. Joseph’s School, Treasurer of the Parent Teacher Association and Girl Scout Leader. She loved knitting, crocheting, cake decorating, rummage sales and decorating her home for the holidays. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Redgranite.
Survivors include her six children: Jeff (Bonnie) Timler of Fond du Lac; Jeanne Baalke of Wautoma; Jacqueline Huberty of Oshkosh, Judith (Dave) Gensch of Neshkoro; Joleen Hullin of Fond du Lac; and Jodi (Brian) Olmen of Green Lake. Survivors also include 12 grandchildren: Colleen (Steve) Lingenfelter, Mark (Kathleen) Timler, Tim (Linda) Sheridan; Sheila Griffin; Cari (Brian) Bodoh; David (Amy) Huberty; Chrissy Gensch; Kelly (Eric) Nelson; Joe (Angie) Hullin; Katie (Tim) Hullin; Kelsey Olmen and Erik Olmen. Step-Grandchildren: Troy (Barb) Baalke; Trent (Beth) Baalke. Great-Grandchildren: Cora & Cole Lingenfelter; MacKain & Meghan Timler; Peter and Lorraine Griffin; Logan & Malia Bodoh; Kyla and McKenna Huberty; Gabrielle, Silas and Titus Nelson; Jory and Adlai Hullin; Dominic and Raymond Hullin. Step Great-Grandchildren: Katlyn and Cassie Baalke; Brittany Bodoh; Sammy and Kayla Baalke. Bernice is also survived by her brother Ray (MaryBeth) Serwe of Fond du Lac and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Preceding Bernice in death were her husband, Pete, her infant daughter JoAnn, her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, her sisters Imelda Kissinger, Gert Polzin, Shirley Pennington, Mildred Schoessow, Jane Serwe and brother James Serwe, sons-in-law Don Baalke and Phil Hullin, and numerous other relatives.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Redgranite. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fond du Lac. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. If desired, memorials may be given to The Heartland House of Wautoma or St. Mark’s Catholic Church
